The Tactic
Your newsletter sender’s name matters more than you think.
Why?
Your sender name is the first thing your subscribers will look at in their inbox.
If they recognize it, then they’ll jump to the subject line and open the email (or not).
But if they don’t…your email will get deleted or, even worse, to the sp*m folder.
When I took a quick look at my inbox (you know, for stealing purposes), I found 3 different ways top creators do it:
My 2 cents:
Brand name is great and a safe option, but it lacks a bit of personality
Creator + brand is the best option for me (it’s what I do, and I send it from Alex @ Steal Club). It’s recognizable but has a touch of personality.
Just your name is a great option if you are well-known in the space (just like Marc Lou is with indie hackers). If not, it might get you on the sp*m folder
🕵️♂️ How to Steal it?
Depending on your current reputation and your brand's recognition, decide which option is best for you for your sender's name.
I personally think name + brand is the safest one!
